Metro 2033 Benchmark

Metro 2033

Now I’m gonna test Metro 2033 in all Direct X versions: 9, 10 and 11 with 1, 2, 3 and 4 cores to see how much CPU power it needs to deliver the best performance.

We should see lower CPU usages in Direct X 11 and Direct X 10 than in Direct X 9.

Here are the CPU usages across all test

Direct X 9

  • 1 Core – 100%
  • 2 Cores – 100%
  • 3 Cores ~ 75%
  • 4 Cores ~ 50%
  • Direct X 10

  • 1 Core – 100%
  • 2 Cores – 100%
  • 3 Cores ~ 65%
  • 4 Cores ~ 45%
  • Direct X 11

  • 1 Core – 100%
  • 2 Cores ~ 85%
  • 3 Cores ~ 55%
  • 4 Cores ~ 35%
  • As I expected, CPU usage is lower in Direct X 11 and Direct X 10 than in Direct X 9.

For the best performance with Metro 2033 on the highest settings your PC should have a x3 CPU for DX9 and DX10 and a Dual Core for DX11. On the other hand you’ll need a more powerful GPU for Direct X 11 than for Direct X 10 or Direct X 9.
