  • Heihachi

What the improvements does that give to us:

Re-included atipdlxx.dll and atipdl64.dll into the package (better support with 3rd party tools)

I am using unmodded 12.7 june26 should i jump to these modded?

  • pesticide

thx! do you think 69xx users will have some imrpovements to from mod ?

    • pesticide

okay just tested them skyrim all UI mana , stamina and hp bars are bugged

also when I enable high quality AF in the CP the waterfall in markart produces oily smoke. very weird, is fixed when i alt tab and turn it off again.

any fix for the UI bars ? Makes the game kinda unplayable as your health bar does not move at all and the stamina and mana bar are really freaky.

  • pesticide

    found the fix : http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?p=1336963671&posted=1#post1336963671

reduce shadows from ultra to high

ati slacking … and beta testers coming up with excuses for them :) (all respect to the freelance beta testers, god knows how much crap we would have without volunteers spending their time testing on top of QA)

  • Nandiman

10x for za mod, but a quick question: why does it say “12.4 Modded by BenchmarK3D” instead of 12.7?

    • Heihachi

Why do you use modded drivers?

      • Nandiman

        Just for testing purpuses.

        • Heihachi

can u tell the difference performance wise vs unmodded?

          • Nandiman

Not really, they just provide some extra options normally available for 7k cards only (although i have not tried any WHQL drivers lately, maybe these options have already been made available for 5k/6k cards by default, but i’m too lazy to check it out)

          • http://benchmark3d.com Johnny 3D

These modded drivers actually bring a extra 1-2 FPS in almost all games I tested. More info here: http://benchmark3d.com/amd-catalyst-modding-guide-and-performance-test/2

          • Heihachi

Can you rerun these test again just to be sure? :)

          • Nandiman

I actually did a benchmark with Sniper Elite V2, and while avg fps was pretty much the same (.5 difference), but minimum fps got an 10 fps boost which is great (maximum fps was down but it’s the minimum that really makes the difference)

            12.6 whql : Average FPS: 42.5 Minimum FPS: 14.7 Maximum FPS: 142.8
            12.7 mod : Average FPS: 43.0 Minimum FPS: 24.7 Maximum FPS: 132.0

I dont know if it’s the modded part or just that the 12.7 si better that 12.6 to start with.

  • Nandiman

Unfortunately, after a day of testing these i found they cause some issues (unstable oc) so i’m going to test the standard 12.7 beta to see if it’s the 12.7 or the mod thats making things unstable (12.6 modded worked fine)

    • Nandiman

Just installed the 12.7 beta unmodded, and it still says “12.4 Modded by BenchmarK3D”. Anyone know why this is?

      • http://benchmark3d.com Johnny 3D

Don’t worry about that, the Catalyst Version Registry String doesn’t get updated sometimes…

        • Nandiman

For a moment there I thought I reinstalled the modded driver instead of the unmodded one. ;) ) Anyways, a quick bench in Sniper Elite V2 with 12.7 unmodded shows that 12.7 beta is better than 12.6, and 12.7 mod is the best when in comes to minimum fps. Time to see whether 12.7 beta causes stability issues like 12.7 mod.

          12.6 whql : Average FPS: 42.5 Minimum FPS: 14.7 Maximum FPS: 142.8
          12.7 beta : Average FPS: 43.1 Minimum FPS: 21.9 Maximum FPS: 138.5
          12.7 mod : Average FPS: 43.0 Minimum FPS: 24.7 Maximum FPS: 132.0

          BTW, i’m runnin a 6850 @ 930/1130.

  • Ricardo BR

Thank you for the Mod I use in my HD6950 2gb XFX!

  • Nandiman

So i’ve been testing the unmodded 12.7 beta and it’s working fine. So the stability issues i was having are caused by this modded version. It’s a real shame though, as this modded driver is a bit faster and I have not had any problems with previous modded drivers (been using 12.4,12.5 and 12.6 mod without a hitch)

  • Luke

Nandiman@, what GPU do you have? Because I have HD 7870 and I don’t have any problems… (except Skyrim on Ultra details = broken HUD and CTD’s)

    • Nandiman

I have a MSI 6850 Cyclone Power Edition oc’ed to 930/1130. All drivers work fine, including the unmoded 12.7 beta and the modded 12.6, except this one. It crashed during a couple of games and once even while browsing. Switched to unmodded 12.7, has not crashed since.

  • martin

i have just a question what is the difference between 12.6 and 12.7 and 12.5 because they drop support hd 4000 series ?!! same architecture and features almost like hd 5000 !!
and in those driver modded you can force at least hd 4800 series to support those optimization

  • ltfcwu

Do u guys have any suggested driver for 7970M CrossfireX?
