AMD Catalyst 12.8 WHQL Benchmark

AMD Catalyst 12.8 WHQL deeps a bit lower in Crysis 2 than 8.97 18 April but looks much better than 12.6 WHQL. Further more, latest WHQL driver is on par with 8.97 18 April in Metro 2033 and DiRT 3.

When it comes to Battlefield 3, performance is relative but the results are more than reliable, all three runs showed a margin of error of +/- 0.2 FPS. Having that in mind, 12.8 WHQL will deep lower than 8.97 18 April and even 12.6 WHQL.

I’m pleased to say that 12.8 WHQL fixes Skyrim’s HUD / UI issue present in the last couple of Catalyst drivers. But 12.7 Beta is still 4+ FPS faster; if you can live with the graphical glitch than you might want to consider still using 12.7 Beta when playing Skyrim.

    8.951.1 05 March is the second-best driver for Battlefield 3 and one the best allrounders = My choice.

    When are you change the graphic card for your test ? HD6950 in now an old card and testing news catalyst with HD7900 series can be a good idea no ???

      @Seth-01 The tests are fine the way they are. STFU. There are more people without 7xxx cards than with 7xxx cards. Stop whining.

    Thanks for your work here, first and mostly only website I consider for AMD driver news/benchmarks. Installed 12.8 on my 5850 yesterday and it worked like a charm, good to see it has great performance as well.

    I had problems with all drivers since 12.4 but this one finally works nicely again. Also thanks for the Flash Player fix, made my whole system freeze sometimes.

    Oh and I’m not sure if you know this tool but it’s the only one I use for driver uninstalling: Genetix Cleaner – http://tinyurl.com/d9k4ggr – it was made by the user TwL from the guru3d.com forums.
